The concert headlined with Grammy Artist Mavis Staples, known for her classic hit “I’ll Take You There,” was honored with the inaugural MojaMoja Vanguard Award. This award was presented by world renowned DJ and co-creator of theMojaMoja.com Garth Trinidad, who for the event was wearing the Dirt LA Liquid Beach Tie and Oxfam America’s Bob Ferguson, senior music advisor. She performed her 2011 Grammy-winning song “You Are Not Alone.”

EMA Awards 2010

As you all know, DirtLA is dedicated to spreading fashionable eco-trends as well as the latest eco news. Something we are super excited about here at DirtLA are the EMA Awards on October 16th. Since 1991 the EMA Awards have been the only program which devotes itself to celebrating the entertainment industry’s environmental efforts. The EMAs’ play a large and crucial role in connecting the entertainment industry to many different environmental efforts. We found this event interesting since we also aim to integrate celebrity chic fashion into our eco-friendly clothing. To learn more about the Awards visit www.ema-online.org
